Both blue and green cottages have an almost identical outlook over the garden and farm to the lake and mountains, but are totally private from each other, and from our home.

From the window seats and the decks you can sit, relax and enjoy the glorious views, the tranquil garden, the sheep grazing and of course the birds singing. In the morning just lie in bed and enjoy the lake and mountain views. In the evening watch the sun set, and gaze at the stars in the clear dark skies.

The cottages are self-contained. They have basic cooking facilities… fridges, microwaves, sinks etc. They also have TV’s, CD players, DVD’s and magazines. You are welcome to use the small gas BBQ.

Quality furnishings, cotton linen and towels make the cottages ready for a delightful stay. Double-glazing, electric blankets, hairdryers and heaters make for a cosy time in the winter. Comfortable chairs/couches are for the relaxing times!

Great care has been taken with décor and furnishings to ensure your stay is most comfortable and restful.

Walk to the lake through our farm, and a walkway to the lake. This is a great walk to watch the many species of birds, and enjoy the wild flowers along the way.

Join us for a generous continental breakfast that includes a large choice of cereals, nuts, fresh, cooked and dried fruits, yoghurt, toast, honey, marmalade and jams, tea and freshly brewed coffee- or have it served in your cottage at your leisure.

Hosts

We live on a small 35-acre farm, on which we have a small flock of 60 sheep grazing. So weekends and holidays are sometimes busy with the farm chores!

Ross is a building contractor, specialising in new homes and light commercial work. Jane is a past Primary School Teacher.
Our adult children are all away from home, but enjoy returning for holidays.

Being born and bred on farms, we both have a real love of country life.

Jane enjoys playing golf during the quieter winter months; Ross always has many projects around our small farm. Both enjoy gardening! We love to get out and about around the lake on the bikes.

We have pet sheep ‘Fred’, and his friends ‘Him’ and ‘Her’. And of course 'Kitty’ and 'Jerry' the cats. The animals do not go in the cottages! Our lovely Jack Russell has recently passed away at the age of 14!

Wonderful facilities, great views and really friendly hosts, but too little time. We will definitely make it back again in the not -too- distant future to spend some extra time in this little piece of paradise. Thank you so much Jane for your hospitality.

Thank you so much for the lovely time we spent at The Croft. To Ross for building the warm and cosy cabin. To Jane for the wonderful warm welcome and hospitality to us on our stay. For the yummy breakfasts, coffee and comfortable 'chats' over breakfast. You feel like a close friend over such a short time. Thank you and we hope to return. All the best.

Thank you for a wonderful visit, warm welcome and cosy cottage. Had a fantastic trip to Doubtful Sound, and even from here the views over Lake Te Anau are amazing.
